David Heap a été interviewé sur la CBC français à Winnipeg
David Heap was interviewed on CBC French in Winnipeg about the Canadian Boat to Gaza, the Tahrir, during his speaking tour in the Prairies.
By Dorian Geiger
Professor of French linguistics at Western Ontario University, David Heap is a typical Canadian university academic — except he’s spent six days in an Israeli prison.
Heap, a political activist, was detained by Israeli forces in November, 2011 for attempting to cross waters into Gaza aboard a Canadian-owned flotilla with medical and educational supplies for the region’s citizens.
Heap will speak in Saskatoon on Thursday amidst a campaign he has organized urging Stephen Harper’s Conservative government to press Israel to release the boat so its contents can be distributed to the Palestinian people.

Canadian abducted by Israel to address Prairie audiences
A Canadian who was forcibly abducted by Israeli forces from the Canadian ship Tahrir and detained without charge last fall continues to demand that the Conservative government press Israel to immediately return the boat and its contents, and is taking that message on a Prairies speaking tour.
London, Ontario activist David Heap, who was on board the Tahrir when it was boarded in international waters, will be speaking in Saskatoon on May 17 and Winnipeg on May 22, and will also address the campaign’s ongoing plans to challenge the illegal blockade of Gaza.
