All-Canadian boat aims to bring aid to Gaza VANCOUVER—A British Columbia activist who was on last year’s Gaza-bound flotilla when it was raided by Israeli forces says he is going back, this time on an all-Canadian boat.
The Canadian Boat for Gaza initiative is in the process of raising $300,000 for a boat that would deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

In May 2010, the first Freedom Flotilla sent seven vessels to Gaza carrying nearly 700 passengers from 36 different countries. Israeli commandos attacked the boats, shot and killed nine passengers, injured over 50 and imprisoned all aboard.

Canada Boat to Gaza to join freedom flotilla in May Esther Kern has seen it all.
She's witnessed the demolition of Palestinian homes in the West Bank; the uprooting of their olive trees and vegetable gardens; the destruction of grapevines in their vineyards; the poisoning of their land; and the wrecking of their wells.
The Christian Peacemaker Team (CPT) member has also seen the effect it has on the Palestinian people.

Canadians Help Fund Second Gaza Flotilla On May 31, 2010, Israeli naval commandoes intercepted a flotilla of ships en route from Turkey to the Gaza strip. The flotilla was organized by a group of activists protesting the Israeli embargo of Gaza that Israel says is necessary to prevent smuggling of weapons into the enclave. Activists say this is denying the basic necessities of life to the citizens of Gaza.
